Hi, I'm

Oluwanbe Amodu

An Artist

My art reflects this passion for nature and the environment, as I often draw upon my experiences with the natural world to create pieces that capture its beauty and complexity.

My artistic practice is deeply influenced by the visual and cultural memories of my Nigerian upbringing, where daily life and the landscape shaped my earliest concepts of beauty. I translate these experiences into textured figures and portraits on black-primed canvases, using a palette knife to create rhythmic patterns and layered colors.

By combining acrylic paint with paper, fabrics, leather, and found materials, I create surfaces that reflect the resilience and spiritual depth of African womanhood. What began as a fascination with natural relationships has evolved into an exploration of identity, ancestry, and diasporic emotions. Each portrait serves as a site of memory, movement, and cultural continuity.
